Please check out this article, posted on Harvard Business Review. I think it does a great job of articulating the contributing factors towards burnout.
I have had all 6, at the same time.
Not ok.
Many of my clients come with a combo of #2, #5, and most often #6.
I think maybe my favorite bit in this whole article comes at the end,
“Burnout isn’t simply about being tired. It’s a multifaceted issue that requires a multifaceted solution.”
I completely agree.
And that is why I’m a burnout coach.
This stuff is no joke!
(I was physically ill from job burnout, doctors visists and all. It really doesn’t have to be that way.)
Are you experiencing burnout yourself?
Did you connect with any of these?
- Workload
- Perceived Lack of Control
- Reward
- Community
- Fairness
- Values mismatch
If that was a yes (even to just one), get some support now, before you get ill like I did (and a lot of my clients too).
It’s so much easier than people realize to shift from burnout, but it takes support. And that support is coaching. Simply talking, planning, strategizing, and taking tiny step actions that get you out of burnout and into a healthier frame of mind.
